The 2008 Mayor’s Art Show Jury

Susan Lowdermilk: Book Artist, Printmaker – Eugene, Oregon

Susan is a printmaker and book artist, and primarily works in relief media such as woodcut and wood engraving. She teachs art and applied design courses at Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon. Her work appears in many public collections including the Getty Museum, the Library of Congress and the New York Public Library, and is represented in galleries throughout the United States.

Ellen Morrow: Watercolor Artist – Eugene, Oregon

Ellen has been a professional Artist/Designer for over 30 years. She’s spent 12 years creating one-of-a-kind pieced and quilted “Art to Wear” clothing, 10 years owning a ceramic jewelry company that sold its designs in over 3000 stores nationally, and most recently has been focusing on her work as a painter and watercolorist. She studied at the School of the Worcester Art Museum, Rhode Island School of Design, U of O, and Yale University. She is currently represented by Lawrence Gallery and is a member of the Excelsior Artist’s Group. Her art is offered through several online venues. She has been the recipient of numerous awards and her work is collected internationally.

Mary Lou Zeek: Artist and Gallery Owner – Salem, Oregon

Mary Lou is a graduate from Western Oregon State College with a B.A. in Education/Art -1976. She opened the Mary Lou Zeek Gallery, a contemporary art and crafts gallery, in 2001. As a working artist for more than 25 years, she wanted to create an “artist friendly” gallery. As a community activist, Mary Lou has served on various city and state arts organizations, and has initiated fund raising and community events to support the arts in her community. Mary Lou has taught a variety of workshops and taught ceramics at Willamette University.
